Valkyrie

In Norse mythology, these beings were a group of maidens who served Odin and chose the warriors who were worthy of going to Valhalla after dying in battle.

Associated with transformation and birds, particularly ravens, their name comes from the old Norse word for “chooser of the slain”. Often riding winged horses or wolves. Valkyries embody both the beauty and terror of battle.
