Mani is the Norse God of the moon. Monday comes from the Moon day. It follows the Sun day just how Mani follows his sister Sol in the sky. He drives the chariot that pulls the moon through the night sky, in order to keep it out of reach from the evil wolf Hati, who seeks to devour it.
