Policies
Shipping
Please allow 5-7 business days for your orders to ship.
When your order arrives, please be sure to inspect it and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Pre-Orders
All pre-orders will take 6-8 weeks to dye and ship (unless otherwise noted). Please be patient and watch for updates. If purchasing in-stock items with a pre-order, all your items will ship at the same time. If you wish to receive in stock items sooner, please purchase them on a separate order.
Returns
If you have received the wrong item or it is damaged, please contact us immediately so we can do our best to resolve the issue. If you need to return your item, please do so within 14 days of receiving it. Items must be returned in their original state, if your yarn has been unwound or caked, you will not be eligible for a refund. The customer will be responsible for the shipping costs, as shipping is non refundable.
Exchanges
Due to the limited supply of yarn that is dyed, exchanges can not be offered at this time. Please see Returns policy above. To ensure your order is correct, please double check your selections before continuing with your purchase.
Hand Dyed Yarn
Our yarn is dyed in small batches, by hand. There WILL be slight variations between skeins. We do our best to keep colors consistent between colorways, but there may be stray speckles/patches of colors that will vary between each skein. Your yarn may also vary slightly from the yarn in photos, not only due to the nature of small batch, hand dyeing. But due to color differences between monitors and phone screens.
Washing
It is typical for some colors to bleed when washing. This should be resolved after the first wash (sometimes 2). To keep bleeding to a minimum and keep your knitwear in its best condition, wash in cool water with wool soap, and lay flat/block to dry. If there is considerable bleeding, please contact us so we can resolve the issue.
Anti-Fat Tax Discount
In an effort to be more inclusive to makers of all sizes, Viking Fiber Company has implemented an updated anti-"fat tax" discount.
We understand that plus size crafters have to spend more on materials to make the same thing as everyone else. We want these projects to be accessible to everyone.
If you're buying a SQ and you need 7+ (more than 6) skeins, we'll give a 10% discount to the yarn purchased when you use the code LOVEALLBODIES. This discount now applies to mixed weights and colors in order to do colorwork items as well.
This discount is on the honor system. If you feel you need this discount for your garment due to being charged other types of "fat-taxes" in your daily life, please only use the code for your garment items. For example, if you need other skeins for maybe a hat, or stickers and a candle, please do separate orders and we'll combine and refund for shipping charges.
We kindly ask that for larger items, like a blanket or a Stephen West shawl, this discount not be used.
We hope this will be an acceptable way to help makers of all sizes. And know that we can always adjust and make changes if this process isn't working. We'll find a way to make it work for everyone.
Thank you all for your understanding and support of us and of everyone in this wonderful fiber community.
A special thanks to @cesiumyarn for bringing this idea to light and to all the other makers out there who are taking the same steps to help our fiber community be more inclusive.
