If you're considering ordering Nornir DK for the Call of the Wild Kits, our current batch of Nornir DK is a little more free-spirited than usual. It came to us with some slight spinning inconsistencies. Nothing that affects the strength or beauty of the yarn, but enough to give it a touch of character.
Because of that, We’re offering this batch at a 10% discount. It’s still the same custom, non-superwash base you love, soft, woolly, and full of soul. Just with a bit more individuality in the skein. Thank you for embracing the perfectly imperfect!
Call Of The Wild Kits!
Patrick Griffith of @GryffKnits released his very first pattern Tuesday Oct 7th... and oh my is it amazing! The Call of the Wild is a unisex, size-inclusive, round-yoked colorwork sweater knit seamlessly from the top down. The circular yoke is adorned with twisted stitches that create the silhouette of the distant mountain ridgelines with alternating sections of Stockinette and Half-Twisted Broken Rib.
We've chosen some of our favorite colors as kits for this fantastic new pattern using either:
Our American grown and milled non-superwash wool blend - Nornir DK (limited supplies)
Or our squishy, soft and fluffy superwash Merino - Bergen Worsted
We have a nearly unlimited supply of Bergen Worsted on hand, but our Nornir DK supply is very limited. If you want to make yours using Nornir, you'll need to email us at Vikingfiberco@gmail.com on Tuesday when the pattern is released. This blend will be a first come, first serve option (so sorry for the extra step in ordering, there's just no other way with such limited supplies)
Any kits ordered between 10/11 and 10/21 will be dyed and shipped when we return from our east coast Rhinebeck trip on 10/22
