In Northern Ireland, there's a magical road right out of a fairytale. The Dark Hedges is a road lined with Beech trees that were planted by the land owners in the eighteenth century. They wanted visitors to have a compelling view as they traveled the road to their Georgian mansion. Sadly in early 2025, a major Atlantic storm wrecked havoc on the trees, uprooting several and causing severe damage to many more. We were happy to photograph these trees before they were gone.
